Kamala Beach
is a very quiet spot which is enjoyed by a mixture of Thais and foreigners.
The shade provided by the numerous trees on the border of the beach are
an attractive feature for both groups. In addition, Kamala Beach offers
a distinctive feature: one can go shopping on the beach. A number of tents
are set up under the trees from which many Thai vendors sell handicrafts,
T-shirts, and other low-priced items.
Kamala Beach is a classic example of a Thai beach. The single row of chairs and parasols for rent look out upon a sandy white beach followed by a clear view of the ocean. The view is unhindered by no neighboring islands. On the left side of the beach, a small mountain rises up but does not intrude upon the beach. The beach is not particularly crowded and is an ideal spot for a lengthy stay or a change of scenery from the beach at which one is currently staying.
